Sanya Lanhai Hotel

This project is located in Sanya, Hainan, where is next to Luling Street on the north, adjacent to Haiyun Street on the south, and one block away from Dadonghai wharf. A 4-storey old building will be demolished, and a 9-storey modern and elegant hotel with 158 guest rooms will be developed instead. We make good use of the amazing ocean view and advantageous terrain for the main building, in order to make every guest enjoy the seascape from different rooms. Wavy balcony is applied in our design. With blue sky and sea, the white building stands on the green hillside, which looks like a sailing cruise ship. The set of building elevation can reduce the earthworks to the maximum extent while making a full use of available underground space (as the air-raid shelter). We try to keep guest rooms head south and face to the ocean as possible. We take advantage of natural sunshine and ventilation openings by applying the open exterior-corridor type layout, so as to achieve the design goal of energy savings and low-carbon environmental protection. The entrance square is situated on the west of the main building, connecting to the urban green belt on both sides of Luling Street. The main building is like open arms that encircles the entrance square, which creates a welcome atmosphere. The east of the hotel is a landscape platform for leisure that allows guests to enjoy the beautiful seascape. A pool without boundary next to the platform can also make guests feel an association between platform and sea. The entrance square associates with landscape platform through the hotel lobby, which generates the connection between landscapes and buildings. We try our best to preserve the original natural green as much as possible, in order to reflect the landscape concept of the integration between artificial works and Mother Nature.
