Design conception of teaching office building:
Large architecture group, small courtyard, considering outdoor space: 1. The extend and development of the culture. 2. The certainty and uncertainty of teaching space.
The main layout is “information gallery”, the secondary layout is architecture gallery with different functions. “Information gallery” is along with teaching office buildings and opens for the public. It has different functions and diversified spatial changes. This space emphasize main axle wire of the planning, it is also make northern vertical view become complete coherent campus image. Every function area makes many courtyard on the both sides of axle wire, this is not only improve original planning, but create more diversified space.
South of Ysngtze river is hot and humid in summer and cold in winter, so the block is designed by enclosed courtyard. By doing so, the air of interior and outdoor can have good convection, and it is cold in summer and warm in winter. At the same time, the traditional courtyard is extended by modern factors, materials and skills, to achieve the design theme that the nature, human and culture are harmonious coexistence.
